Ryan Emma Moran Busby | Artist Portfolio | 2024

Graphic designs, photography and collages come from places I've visited, people I've embraced and other hobbies that I love

<< My senior trip abroad took me to beautiful Italy. Landed in Milan and made our way down through Venice, Florence and finally departed from Rome. This photo and the cover photo on my home page were two of my favorite sites visually. Venice is the most interesting place for an artist's eye that I could ever imagine.

Advanced Graphic Design falls under the the arts department at my school, but also satisfied part of my computer science requirement. I really enjoyed incorporating my volleyball life into my art.  >>

<< 'Oarsmen at Dawn' - Took this photo  at 6am from the dock watching my brother's high school rowing team depart onto Long Island Sound during their summer bootcamp. The eerie shine on the water unfortunately was from an accident at Con Edison Energy that leaked 61,500 gallons of dielectric fluid into the harbor.

<< Living less than a hour's train ride to the greatest city in the world will spoil you. Museums, concerts, fashion shows, architecture...

This is a self-portrait collage from magazine clippings I put together during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yes, the mask is red velvet cake. >>

<< Graphic Design class in practice. I rallied my Varsity Volleyball senior sisters to plan a 'Pink Out' night to raise awareness of breast cancer and collect funds for the school's Think Pink Scholarship that helps school families coping with the disease. I designed the graphic at left, had it printed on tee shirts and with my teammates sold them prior to our game. We raised a record amount for a single athletic team fundraiser. Our school mascot is the Koala and this one is fierce. Fight like a girl!

What I Did Last Summer

Love, love, love my Camp Iroquois campers. It was like herding cats leading my seventeen 5-year-olds, but I'm going back next summer.

The canals of Venice are unique. I have been drawing many different views based on the photos I took on my senior trip. Eventually will add a flip book.

I learned as much as I taught to my campers. No one is afraid to swim anymore! I taught all of them how to draw a little bit, very interesting results.
